MOCHA (MObile Cloud-based Hybrid Architecture)

Project Description

Cloud computing has brought the state of the art in mobile computing to an inflection point in which mobile applications that access Big Data, which were unimaginable a decade ago, may now be feasible, potentially offering vast productivity improvements, a better quality of life and significant technological advances.

MOCHA (MObile Cloud-based Hybrid Architecture) is a network system that addresses the technological challenges in running mobile-computing applications that utilize Big Data in a distributed environment, encompassing hardware, software, and a computational framework to support these applications. There are many real-time applications that can benefit from MOCHA, namely, battlefield support applications, natural language processing, airport security, an enhanced Amber Alert system, among others.
